Elegant oriental porcelain vases, hand-decorated with polychrome floral scenes and depictions of peacocks amidst flowers and greenery. The rich and vibrant decoration features motifs of chrysanthemums, peonies, and other traditional flowers, symbols of prosperity, nobility, and good fortune in oriental culture.
The ovoid-shaped body of the vases is embellished with meticulously crafted details and a lid with a shaped apical grip. The bottom bears a red seal mark, attributed to the Guangxu period (1874–1908), as also indicated by the original label.
The back of each vase features brush-written Chinese calligraphy (kanji/hanzi). The text consists of traditional poetic lines that evoke naturalistic imagery, typical of classical Chinese poetry.
The content, while not translatable word for word due to the poetic style, evokes concepts such as:
light clouds,
wind that caresses the branches,
intense scent of flowers,
pure brightness of the moon,
harmony of nature and serenity of the soul.
These are therefore poetic stanzas that accompany the main decoration, completing the symbolic meaning of the vase.
A decorative pair of great charm, ideal for classic settings, oriental collections or refined spaces.
